On Sunday July 11, 2004 I went to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal to Collect Water samples to examine for Microscopic Life! I Collected Water from one Place From Lake Mary at the Arsenal! It was collected on the Southeast Shore! This spot can be seen in the close ups from the pictures below!!!

I collected the water sample in the morning! It was fairly warm; but I did not record the temperature of the water! There was a lot of small fish such as flathead minnow in the water! I saw a large frog and some large fish jumping! There was a large amorphous mass of algae surrounding the shoreline! It was fairly amorphous under the microscope also! The water conditions were good! I used a pond testing kit to test the water! So the results are not highly accurate! The PH was 7.5, the NH3/NH4+ level was essentially zero, the Nitrate level was essentially 0 PPM, the oxygen level was 5 mg per liter, the salt level was 0.00 to 0.02 percent The salt level of a lot of Colorado waters that are close to the point of origin have this low level of salt! I keep my pond at 0.1 Percent!

My introduction to the Arsenal came froma Property Law Teacher! He was part of the original team that went in to inspect the arsenal after the army said it was clean! One team member fell through a piece of plywood covering a pool of dumped chemicals! His Hazmat suit began to dissolve and he had to be gotten out of there! But being undeveloped, it holds a lot of wildlife! I saw a lot of deer and a lot of Rocky Mountain Bee plants which I had not planted!!
